Meals LLC (“we”) operates Meals. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
We collect account and authentication data (household name, email, hashed password, verification status, sessions, IP address and browser/device information); content you provide (recipes, images, URLs, meal plans, groceries, notes and AI chat); billing identifiers and subscription status; optional body-profile and nutrition data (height, weight, age, sex, activity level, goals, BMI and calculated targets); optional ZIP code, approximate coordinates and preferred stores; consent records; and security, usage and error logs. Stripe receives payment-card details directly; we do not store full card numbers.
How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service, calculate requested nutrition estimates, process subscriptions, send transactional account messages, prevent abuse, support users, comply with law, and diagnose and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information or use health-related information for targeted advertising.
Service providers and AI
We disclose only the information needed to providers that operate the service: our hosting and database providers, Stripe for billing, Resend for transactional email, Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention, Google Places and Geocoding for optional store search, and Google Gemini for optional recipe, image, nutrition, classification and chat features. AI submissions may include recipe content, uploaded images, chat messages and related instructions. Do not submit sensitive information you do not want processed by those providers.
Cookies and location
We use necessary cookies for authentication, security, theme, view preferences and onboarding state. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral analytics. Browser geolocation is used only when you request nearby stores; stored coordinates are rounded, though ZIP codes and saved store locations may still reveal an approximate area.
Retention and security
Account content is retained while the account is active. Short-lived verification and rate-limit records expire according to operational needs. Billing, consent, fraud-prevention and transaction records may be retained as legally required. Deleted data may persist temporarily in encrypted backups until normal rotation. We use encryption in transit, access controls, secure cookies and other safeguards, but no system is risk-free.
Your choices and rights
You can update or clear profile information, export household data, and delete the account from Settings. Deletion cancels access and removes application content, subject to legal retention and provider records. Depending on location, you may also request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection or withdrawal of consent. We do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
Health information and breaches
Meals is a general wellness and meal-planning service, not a health-care provider. Nutrition and body targets are estimates. Body-profile data and the targets derived from it are consumer health data under the laws of some states and are described separately in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, which also explains how to give and withdraw consent. We do not sell consumer health data. If an incident involving covered health information requires notice under applicable law, we will notify affected people and regulators as required.
Adults only and international transfers
The service is for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information may be processed in United States and other countries where providers operate, with protections required by applicable law.
