Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated 2026-07-21

This policy is separate from our general Privacy Policy and describes how Meals LLC handles consumer health data in Meals. It exists to meet Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370, and comparable consumer health data laws. If you live in one of those states, this policy governs the data described below.

What we treat as consumer health data

Only the optional body profile and the figures derived from it: height, weight, age, sex used for the calorie formula, activity level, weight goal, body mass index, and the calorie and macronutrient targets calculated from those inputs. We also treat diet-related preferences you record, such as allergy or dietary-restriction labels on recipes, as consumer health data. Recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists that carry no such label are ordinary account content covered by the general Privacy Policy.

How we collect it

We collect this data only when you type it into Settings or a recipe. We do not derive it from third parties, purchase it, infer it from your device, or collect it through trackers. We collect nothing in this category until you give the separate consent described below.

Why we use it

Solely to calculate and display the nutrition estimates and daily targets you requested, and to label recipes with the dietary information you entered. We do not use consumer health data for advertising, profiling, scoring, or any purpose beyond producing the output you asked for.

Who receives it

We do not sell consumer health data. Selling it would require a signed authorization under Washington law, and we neither seek nor accept one. We share it only with the processors that run the service, and only as needed: our hosting and database provider stores it, and Google Gemini receives body-profile figures when you personally invoke an AI nutrition or chat feature that depends on them. We do not share consumer health data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers. We disclose it otherwise only when compelled by valid legal process, and we do not treat a subpoena for reproductive or gender-affirming care data as valid absent a court order.

Consent and how to withdraw it

We ask for your consent before collecting anything in this category, separately from the Terms of Service, and you can decline and keep using the rest of the service. You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings. Withdrawal stops future collection and immediately deletes the stored body profile and its derived targets. It does not undo AI output already generated in your account, which you can delete yourself.

Your rights

You may request access to the consumer health data we hold, a list of the third parties it has been shared with, correction of inaccurate entries, and deletion. Export and deletion are available immediately in Settings; the export includes your consent history. To exercise any other right, or to appeal a decision, email kadenfreezie@gmail.com. We respond within the period applicable law requires, and if we deny an appeal we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

Retention and security

We retain consumer health data only while your account is active and your consent stands. Withdrawal or account deletion removes it from the live database; encrypted backups may retain it briefly until normal rotation. Consent records themselves are kept as proof of compliance after the underlying data is gone. Access is restricted and data is encrypted in transit.
